AN INTERVIEW WITH OZZY
Question 1: If you had to describe yourself in five words, what would they be?
OZZY: Ha! Mate, I'm still tryin' to work MYSELF out! You'd definitely have to have 'handsome' as the first one, am I right? The second would be 'wise': trust me, when you go through what I have, you learn to wise up a tad! Thirdly, I'm... 'creative': got a fine eye for detail, I have! He, he, he... Fourth word would have to be 'lucky': not in life, so to speak, but definitely got somethin' goin' for me when the cards and chips are out- and not just the perfect poker face! The last word would have to be... 'loyal'. Yep, you get on my wrong side at your own risk; but a true friend to Ozzy is a true commitment to me!
Question 2: What makes your skin crawl?
OZZY: He, he, he- mate, I'm the one MAKIN' the skin crawl... I live on an underground platform, right near the bleedin' sewers! Trust me, there ain't a bloody thing that I ain't been desensitised to! 'Upstairs', however... yeah, there are a few things that really grind me. Can't stand blokes who hurt kids, for a start. Makes me sick to the stomach; people who prey on the defenceless. Get those pricks down here for a meetin' with 'The Australian'... I'll teach them what being helpless REALLY feels like...
Question 3: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
OZZY: Not much of a traveller these days... he, he, he. Believe me when I tell you I've probably been most places on the planet... spent enough time bein' kept on a tight leash- but you're not here to talk about that, are you? No, I've got everythin' I could ever want down here: plenty of food, a roof over my head- a whole city, come to think of it- plenty of bits and bobs to tinker and a buddy to spend those odd hours with! I suppose, if I HAD to go somewhere... it'd be my home back in Oz. Can't even remember what that much sun felt like...
Question 4: Which famous role-model, living or dead, do you most idolise?
OZZY: I've come to learn that even our most admirable heroes are probably hidin' somethin'... the truth ain't ever pretty. You want me to pick though, so... let's just say Elvis. If you gotta idolise someone, it may as well be the King...
